PHP Engineer

As a PHP Engineer, you will be at the heart of Ravn's engineering process that empowers high-performance teams to quickly develop and deliver exceptional products. We are focused on solving the hardest, most interesting challenges of developing software at scale without sacrificing stability, quality, velocity, or code health. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems for clients in the US and work on delivering new features, maintaining and ensuring the quality and responsiveness of Rails applications. You will also be asked to participate in setting architecture direction for development projects, mentor and assist junior team members and perform detailed code reviews.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

  • Strong communicator

  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English

  • Fluency with modern PHP

  • Strong understanding of Laravel and PHP libraries

  • Hands-on experience writing and maintaining PHP applications

  • Strong understanding and experience with networking using REST

  • 2+ years of experience with React

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extremely comfortable writing Unit Tests

  • Experience with Laravel

  • Experience with deploying PHP applications

  • Strong understanding of standard web design patterns

  • Familiarity with profiling application processes

  • Experience with CI/CD tools

  • Experience working on Open Source Libraries

Location:

This position is open to candidates based anywhere in Latin America and is fully remote. Candidates located near our offices in Arequipa, Peru or San Salvador, El Salvador have the option to work in a hybrid in-office/remote arrangement. While office attendance is not mandatory, regular or occasional visits to the office is valued.
