Enerflo cuts PR review time by 65% via Claude Code

Enerflo's platform lets solar installers design, sell, and finance residential systems, and each new lender or TPO partner ships as a plugin with its own pricing rules, disclosures, and application flow. An error in that code can put a wrong price or loan payment in front of a homeowner, so every change requires careful review. As the plugin count grew, median PR open-to-merge time also grew, increasing the time to review PRs. Reviews were routed to the few engineers who knew each partner's rules, and test gaps surfaced late, in review or QA. Analyzing requirements and designing robust solutions are important steps during the SDLC. Engineers spent time designing ERDs, state and sequence diagrams, and swimlane diagrams. It's crucial to evaluate different approaches with the engineering team, so there was a need to improve this process and define the set of rules that these kinds of diagrams should follow in Enerflo's documentation. Also, having multiple integrations with numerous interfaces and classes makes it hard for new engineers to understand the interaction between services and find sections in the flows that could be optimized.
